For Clare and HenryFor Clare and Henry,For Clare and Henry by luthien-soroniel
Your story spoke to my heart, lifted me up. Thank you for letting me share your lives, watching your swirl of a timeline unfold. I stand at my window, waiting. Waiting for what? I am not married to a time traveler. But sometimes I feel that way. I wait for Bryce. I reach out in the night to feel empty sheets and a cold pillow. I ached inside as you waited, Clare. I shivered in the cold, willing myself back to the present with you Henry. I saw Alba through an artist's eyes. I saw my life and each moment I let slide past me without notice through the eyes of someone cast about in time, like a ship in a storm with no rudder. Each moment to you was precious, Henry. Thank you for teaching me that. Your love of books; and your shared status of coffee-fiend mirrors my own self. Roaring with Alba, I am a coffee-fiend too! You shared with me literary, musical, theatrical experiences of a high connoisseur. You added at least ten pages to my reading list.
This is Africa Chapter 2We were sitting down and talking about an hour later; I had just finished telling him how I had made the snap decision to get on the airplane to Africa. He was shocked when I told him that I had never before been to the country. This is Africa Chapter 2 by greeneyesandglasses
"Maddie's never done another article about Africa?" he asked, seemingly taken aback.
"No...I don't think she's ever been back here. At least, not that I can remember," I told him, seeing his face fall slightly. I attempted to reassure him, "Maybe it was just too hard for her to come back here...She wouldn't talk about it, even though she did tell me what my name meant."
He nodded, looking sideways, out over the tops of the buildings. "I can't say that I blame her for not coming back here, huh? Life wasn't easy to her when she was here...I am proud of what she did with Solomon, though. Ja, that made me glad I'd called her."
I couldn't help myself...I had to know. Would he tell me the truth? I didn't know, but I still wanted to ask the question. "Did you love her
This is Africa Chapter 1My name is Tia Bowen and I have no father. I'm not talking about the biological kind, so don't stop reading because you think I'm a nut job. No, what I mean is that it has always been Mom and me, or me and Mom...We've wandered the world, she and I. She's a famous enough journalist that I figured out where she was when she conceived me, but that really doesn't solve my problem...When you're conceived on a continent like Africa, your range of possibilities is still very high. I am most assuredly completely white, so that narrows down the pool a little, but I still have the major problem of the life span in Africa. What is that exactly? Haven't a clue, just know that there aren't a lot of gray heads there...This is Africa Chapter 1 by greeneyesandglasses
All my mother would ever tell me about her time in Africa was that it was how I got my name. Tia comes from TIA, or "This is Africa". She told me about how that whole idea was why some people who could leave the continent, wouldn't. They had no clue as to how they would survive withou
The name's Meghan, or Megsy. Or Maggie. And sometimes, when I'm at my most hyper, they call me CB. Crack Baby.|
I'm 20 years old.
I'm a Christian, specifically a Catholic. Matthew 5:3-16, Romans 12:12, Jeremiah 29:11-15.
I have hazel eyes that often turn to one green eye and one blue.
I live in Texas.
I'm a busy college student, where I'm learning everything from ASL to History. When school is in session, life is a blur. Sometimes a happy blur, sometimes a big bloody mess of a blur.
I'm in love.
I love taking pictures. yes I'm sadly just an amateur photographer, but you can't blame a gal for trying. I really wish I had more time to practice my photography and I do every chance I get. Sometimes I get disenchanted, though, due to the fact that my camera isn't the best and I don't know as much as I wish I did.
I love writing. I wish I had more time to write, but seeing as I'm in the middle of a long college career plus a job, we'll see what I can do between assignments.
I love reading. Books are so amazing, and I cannot believe anyone could ever not like to read. Are you bored? GO TO THE LIBRARY! My favorite books, besides the Bible and the Lord of the Rings, include anything by CS Lewis or John and Stasi Eldredge. Little Women, Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, My Friend Flicka, Redwall, Anne of Green Gables, Shiloh, you get the picture...
My favorite movie is The Lord of the Rings. There are others but I won't bore you with that.
I don't watch television. MAJOR exception: Bones. I absolutely adore that show.
I loveeee coffee.
I cannot wait until I have my own place so I can get the dog I've always wanted: my beagle!
And I'll leave it at that for now.
